La emotiva graduación de la New Bedford High School

NEW BEDFORD — Late afternoon clouds cast a nostalgic hue over New Bedford High School’s graduation ceremony, earlier this month.

The students’ farewell was joyful and emotional at times, as parents, teachers and family members hugged each other, posed for photographs and snapped selfies.

For some, this ritual was but a step along the journey to continued education at a university or college. For others it marked a transition to the working world. Either way, it was a day they will remember all their lives.

The now NBHS alumni, many of them of Latino origin, were happy and proud, as were their families and guardians.
