Across Massachusetts municipal budgets are strained this year. Many cities and towns have resorted to Proposition 2 1/2 overrides, while others have proceeded directly to layoffs, program cuts and tax hikes.

On June 18 at 1 p.m., Jack Spillane will talk to two experts on how municipal budgets are crafted in Massachusetts, and what, if anything, might help the situation.

Adam Chapdelaine, executive director of the Massachusetts Municipal Association, and Phineas Baxandall, director of research and policy analysis for Massachusetts Budget & Policy Center, will be the guests on The Chat for the full hour.
