Q&A
Steven J. Ouellette
Work and experience: Why are you qualified to run for this office?
I’m in my eighth term as a Westport selectman. Prior to that a reserve police officer and prior to that a call firefighter. (I’ve had a) commitment to public service my entire adult life. I have also worked full time for two local school systems for 30 years.
What’s your main reason for running?
I would love to work full time, as a representative that serves the people and gets things done for the 8th Bristol District. I have a proven record of addressing issues.
What key issue do you plan to address, and how will you do that?
Funding for my district’s communities. Standing up for my communities.
With the country splintered by partisan politics, what do you think needs to be done to get Democrats and Republicans to work together?
Work like I always have, with respect, dignity and have an honest care for the people I serve.
