NEW BEDFORD — The Ward 3 Preliminary Election to fill the seat vacated by Hugh Dunn is Jan. 24, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The last day for registering to vote in the preliminary special election is Jan. 13 at 5 p.m., according to the city’s website.
Other key dates for the preliminary and final Ward 3 special elections include:
Jan. 24 preliminary election
- Jan. 17: Last day to apply for a mail-in or absentee primary ballot for the preliminary race (5 p.m. deadline).
- Jan. 21: Absentee voting is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at City Hall, Room 114.
- Jan. 23: Last day to apply for an in-person absentee preliminary election ballot (noon deadline).
Feb. 28 final election
- Feb. 17: Last day to register to vote for the final Ward 3 Special Election (5 p.m. deadline).
