The Crime of the Century casting

The Crime of the Century follows the final moments before the 1936 execution of Bruno Richard Hauptmann, the German immigrant convicted in the kidnapping and murder of Charles Lindbergh’s infant son.
Based on real events, the play revisits one of the most famous trials in American history. As Hauptmann prepares for the electric chair, he retells his story while six prison guards portray more than 30 characters through a series of flashbacks. The production asks whether Hauptmann was guilty or wrongly executed.
Lawrence R. Houbre Jr. directs the production.
