Super Troopers Figure Drawing at Play Arcade
The Siren Scene will bring artists together for a Super Troopers-inspired figure drawing session Thursday, Aug. 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Play Arcade in New Bedford. Fee is $15.
A male model will pose in a state trooper-inspired costume with aviator sunglasses, an exaggerated mustache, traffic cones, a ticket book and other playful props. The session will begin with shorter poses before moving into longer poses of about 25 minutes.
Each pose is designed as a small narrative scene. Artists can study form, costume, expression, silhouette, and visual storytelling while working from a fully clothed model.
Artists, illustrators, students, designers, animation professionals and curious beginners are welcome. Previous figure drawing experience is helpful but not required.
Participants should bring their own paper or sketchbook and preferred dry drawing materials. Drawing boards are recommended. Advance registration through Eventbrite is encouraged.
