Special Committee on Environmental Affairs meeting

New Bedford’s Special Committee on Environmental Affairs will meet Tuesday, June 9, at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 133 William St.
Committee members will discuss the status of a trucking and shipping agreement involving A-1 Asphalt and Pico Stone Imports and Supply. The discussion centers on the transportation of materials through the Shawmut Avenue neighborhood behind the New Bedford Regional Airport.
The meeting follows a motion filed by Councilor Shane Burgo Choquette requesting updates from city officials, business owners, and legal representatives connected to the agreement.
Invited participants include City Solicitor Eric Jaikes, representatives from A-1 Asphalt and Pico Stone, Department of Inspectional Services Commissioner Danny Romanowicz, abutters on Shawmut Avenue, and a representative from the Mayor’s Office.
The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded through the City of New Bedford website under Quick Links and Meetings.
