Ordinance Committee meeting
The New Bedford City Council Ordinance Committee will meet Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Room 214, City Hall, 133 William St.
The committee will discuss a proposal concerning automated license plate readers and similar surveillance technology. Members will consider whether to eliminate the systems or establish municipal privacy and transparency standards for their use.
Invited participants include representatives from the city’s Information Technology Department, Legal Department, Police Department and Mayor’s Office.
The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded. It can be viewed through the City of New Bedford website under Quick Links and Meetings.
