Memorials and Dedications Committee meeting
The New Bedford City Council’s Special Committee on Memorials and Dedications will meet Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6:30 p.m. in City Council Chambers, Room 214, City Hall, 133 William St.
Agenda — The committee will consider three Memorial Park Bench and Tree Dedication Program applications:
- A bench and plaque along the new Brownell Avenue pathway at Sheldon Street in honor of Freddie Mello.
- A replacement bench and plaque at Fort Taber in memory of Arthur C. Burton Jr.
- A bench and plaque near the Italian American Memorial at Buttonwood and Lake streets in memory of Carl Natho.
Members will also revisit a proposal for a portrait tribute honoring Armand Marchand and George Charbonneau at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center.
The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded. It can be viewed through the meeting link on the City of New Bedford website.
