New Bedford City Council’s Ordinance Committee meeting

New Bedford City Council’s Ordinance Committee will meet May 11 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
Agenda items include a public hearing on a proposed ordinance tied to municipal facility conversions, including the reuse of vacant city owned properties. Committee members will also revisit a proposed fireworks ordinance that would create a 10 p.m. curfew and establish fines for illegal fireworks use.
Other discussions include a proposed recall process for elected officials, paid parental leave for city employees, and voluntary email delivery of tax bills.
Zoning amendments related to asphalt plants and contractor yards are also scheduled for review, along with talks on vacant residential lots and recall provisions for municipal officials.
