Special Committee on Special Permits and Licensing

The New Bedford City Council’s Special Committee on Special Permits and Licensing will meet on May 11 at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
The agenda includes two applications for new private livery licenses. Gerana’s Transportation Inc., based on Weld Street, and Sister Express Transport, based on Robeson Street, are both seeking licenses for the July 2026 through June 2027 term.
Committee members will also consider two residency waiver requests tied to licenses to deal in junk, old metals, or secondhand articles for Fall River Pawnbrokers locations on Acushnet Avenue and Union Street.
The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded on the City of New Bedford website.
