Mud Masters: Middle School Clay Workshop

This four-week workshop gives middle school students a hands-on introduction to clay. Many students don’t get this experience until high school. Participants will work with clay by hand and on the pottery wheel while learning basic techniques through simple demos and guided practice.

Each class focuses on making and experimenting. Students will throw basic forms, sculpt by hand, and add details like handles or texture. Small class sizes allow for one-on-one support, especially on the wheel, helping students build confidence as they work.

This class is ideal for creative kids who enjoy working with their hands. It supports problem-solving, self-expression, and skill-building. All materials are provided, and students will take home finished ceramic pieces.

Classes meet Wednesdays, March 4, 11, 18, and 25, from 5 to 8 p.m.

The fee is $210 for members and $235 for nonmembers.
