Art Talks! Magda C. Leon at the Whaling Museum

New Bedford Whaling Museum will host an online “Art Talks!” conversation with Magda C. Leon on Friday, March 6, from noon to 1 p.m.
Leon, a Guatemalan-born multidisciplinary artist based in Providence, works in printmaking, installation, and social practice. She describes her bicultural identity as “De aquí y de allá.”
The conversation will center on her ongoing community project, “Remember: Volver a pasar por el corazón,” scheduled to open in fall 2027.
Work highlights stories of the Guatemalan community in Greater New Bedford and across the SouthCoast. It examines migration, shared history, and the search for belonging, while drawing links between ancestral traditions and present-day life.
