In the Whale Film Screening & Discussion

“In the Whale” screens Sunday, Aug. 16. Doors open at 2 p.m., and the film starts at 2:30 p.m. The documentary follows Cape Cod lobsterman Michael Packard, who survived being engulfed by a humpback whale during a dive off Provincetown.

The film explores Packard’s life as a commercial lobster diver and the aftermath of the encounter that drew worldwide attention. Filmmaker David Abel will attend and take part in a brief Q&A after the screening.

Abel is a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter for The Boston Globe who covers climate change. He is also a professor at Boston University and has directed several environmental and documentary films.

Tickets are $25 for the public and $12.50 for members.
