Harbor of Courage Encampment at Fort Phoenix

The Fairhaven Village Militia hosts its annual Spring Encampment, “Harbor of Courage,” May 16 and 17 at Fort Phoenix. The event marks the 251st anniversary of the First Naval Engagement of the American Revolutionary War and is part of the nation’s 250th anniversary observance.
Living history demonstrations, colonial encampments, and reenactments will bring the 1770s to life. Visitors can see militia drills, musket firings every 15 minutes, and artillery demonstrations. A battle reenactment is set for 2 p.m. Saturday. Cannon fire at dusk highlights the day.
Artisans will demonstrate 18th-century trades. Reenactors will share daily life from the era.
Hours are 10 a.m. to dusk Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Fort Phoenix on Fort Street. Admission is free. The event is weather permitting and accessible.
