Finance Committee meeting

New Bedford’s Finance Committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2026, in City Hall’s Council Chambers at 133 William St. The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded.
Members will consider a motion to review the eligibility age for property tax exemptions and discuss other exemptions affecting senior homeowners.
A $12.6 million loan order proposed by Mayor Jon Mitchell will also be reviewed. Funds would support repairs and upgrades to city buildings, infrastructure, and equipment.
Discussion will include a communication raising concerns about property taxes and senior tax adjustments.
