Cherry Blossom Festival

The Whitfield Manjiro Friendship Society plans a Cherry Blossom Festival from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Whitfield Manjiro Friendship House. Admission is free. The event highlights Japanese culture and the hanami tradition, featuring a mix of hands-on activities and demonstrations.
Activities include ikebana, origami, and Japanese name writing. A kimono display and items for sale will also be available.
Additional features include an open house at the museum, kamishibai storytelling, folk music, and a Shin Daiko taiko drumming performance.
A Japanese bento box lunch is available for $20 and includes a drink and dessert. Reservations are required in advance.
