Appointments & Briefings Committee of the City Council meeting

The City Council’s Appointments and Briefings Committee will meet Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall, Room 214. The meeting will be recorded and live-streamed on the city’s website.

Citizens’ Input Time will open the meeting, featuring remarks from Joyce Rowley on Buttonwood Park Zoo and Emily the Elephant, and Allen Ganeto on keeping city streets clean.

The committee will consider mayoral appointments to the Conservation Commission and Traffic Commission. It will also review new private livery license applications from New Bedford Transportation LLC, DJ Transportation, Grace Transportation, and Blue Line Transportation.

Additional agenda items include motions regarding the city’s prescription drug plan and employee benefit packages, as well as a host community agreement proposal for Houz of Diesel, an adult-use marijuana retail and manufacturing business at 301 Herman Melville Blvd.
