Amplifying Black Women’s & Workers’ voices through theater

Amplifying Black Women’s and workers’ voices through theater will be presented on Tuesday, March 24, at 12:30 p.m. in Room 118 of the Science and Engineering Building at UMass Dartmouth.
Playwright Elise Bryant brings stories of women and working people to the stage. Her work includes an autobiographical one-woman play set during the civil rights movement and the Detroit rebellion. Bryant is also a liturgist, composer, and recording artist. She lectures on Black spirituals and freedom songs.
Her leadership roles include serving as president of the Coalition of Labor Union Women and as executive director of the Labor Heritage Foundation. She also served as a professor at the National Labor College.
The Science and Engineering Building, also known as SELEC or Building K, is marked on campus maps. Parking is available in lots 13, 14, and 15.
