Cinema 169: Misery

Gallery X will present Cinema 169 on Saturday, Dec. 20. The screening coincides with the COZY exhibition and features the 1990 psychological thriller Misery. Rob Reiner directed the film, based on Stephen King’s novel.
Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The screening begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Reservations are encouraged but not required.
The film stars James Caan as a novelist held captive by an obsessed fan, played by Kathy Bates, after she learns he has killed off her favorite character. The cast also includes Frances Sternhagen, Richard Farnsworth, and Lauren Bacall. William Goldman wrote the screenplay.
Cinema 169 is supported in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, with funding from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
