For the past three years, The Light’s special 6-week program has produced some outstanding student work. Take a look:
Senior voters on the South Coast have plenty to say about the upcoming presidential election. And they should. Among the groups The New Bedford Light spoke to for this project, they’ve seen more and voted longer.
What is their perspective on civic obligations? What issues matter most to them? How do they feel about the presidential candidates? Lastly, should age have been such a hot topic?
Whatever their opinions on this highly divisive election, senior Mercedes Perny said that despite our differences, political or otherwise, it is important to unite as a country.
“We’re one country whether it’s Democrat or Republican,” said Perny, “So we have to work together.”
