Yoron Israel and High Standards to kick off Acoustic Jazz Series

New Bedford JazzFest returns with the 2026 Acoustic Jazz Series after a successful debut. The series opens Sunday, March 1, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Steeple Playhouse and features local acoustic jazz.
The first concert showcases Yoron Israel and High Standards. Israel is a Berklee College of Music professor and veteran drummer who has performed with artists including Sonny Rollins, Abbey Lincoln, and Ahmad Jamal. He is joined by Ian Buss, Laszlo Gardony, Avery Sharpe, and vocalist Leah Hinton. Additional concerts follow on April 19 and June 7.
Doors open at 3:30 p.m. Tickets range from $5 to $30 and are available at SteeplePlayhouse.org.
The venue is accessible, indoor, and offers free parking nearby.
