Westport Friends Annual Book Sale
The Westport Friends Book Sale is one of the region’s largest used book fairs. What began as a small fundraiser for the Westport Quaker Meeting has grown into a major event featuring thousands of affordable books, sorted by genre, for all ages. The sale continues July 12 through July 18 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The final day is July 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a $ 10-per-bag sale.
It draws large crowds, especially on opening day. Shoppers gather ahead of the 11 a.m. opening of the main tents. Those seeking a quieter visit may prefer to attend during the following week, when hours run daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Opening day is July 11. Early sales begin at 10 a.m. with $1 paperbacks and puzzles. A children-only entry opens at 10:45 a.m. in the Meeting House. Full access to the main tents and Community House begins at 11 a.m. Grounds close at 7 p.m.
