The Same Sea: Hotel Papel Sister City Arts Residency Exhibition

“The Same Sea” opens April 30 at DATMA in New Bedford. On view through Aug. 9. An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Six South Coast artists share work created during a residency on Faial Island in the Azores. Artists include Mason Terra, Maggie Felisberto, Abigail Marshall, Carley Byers, Lynne Byers, and Jackie Fournier Se’Ale.
Their artwork spans painting, writing, photography, film, and ceramics. Themes include place, identity, language, and belonging. Pieces reflect shared history and ties between New Bedford and its sister city, Horta.
