“The Phantom of the Opera” silent film with live pipe organ accompaniment

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the classic silent movie starring Lon Chaney, known as “The Man of a Thousand Faces,” with a spinechilling evening at the Unitarian Memorial Church.

Tim Evans, the new music director for the Unitarian Universalist Society of Fairhaven and an accomplished theater organist, will provide live accompaniment to the 93-minute film.

Chaney’s performance as the horribly disfigured Phantom who lurks beneath the Paris Opera set the mark high for horror films to come. The fundraiser will benefit the Organ Fund. Light refreshments follow.
