South Coast Chamber Music Series: Semiquincentennial

The New Bedford Symphony Orchestra’s South Coast Chamber Music Series will open its season with “Semiquincentennial,” an all-American 250th celebration, on Sunday, Sept. 27, at 3 p.m. at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 351 Elm St., South Dartmouth. Tickets are $35.
Works by John Corigliano, Peter Schickele, Missy Mazzoli and Amy Beach are showcased. Corigliano’s “STOMP” for solo violin opens the program, followed by Schickele’s “American Dreams,” Mazzoli’s “Lies You Can Believe In,” and Beach’s Piano Quintet in F-sharp Minor.
NBSO performers include concertmaster Emma Powell and violinist EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks, violist Anna Griffis, cellist Leo Eguchi, and pianist Janice Webe
