Scrimshaw: a beginners hands-on experience

Scrimshaw: A Beginner’s Hands-On Experience is scheduled from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 18. Admission is $45.
Students will learn the basics of scrimshaw, a historic engraving art associated with the whaling industry. The workshop begins with practice on polymer pieces before moving to cow bone.
Materials are provided, and participants may bring a simple 1-by-3-inch design or their own piece of bone to use.
