Sailor Cole Brauer to discuss ‘First Light’ at New Bedford Whaling Museum

The New Bedford Whaling Museum will host sailor and author Cole Brauer on Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for general admission and $12.50 for museum members.
Brauer became the first American woman to race solo nonstop around the world in 2024. She will discuss her memoir, “First Light: Sailing Solo But Not Alone,” which recounts her 130-day voyage, including mechanical failures, illness, and extreme weather.
Wendy Dodson of Hummingbird Books will lead the conversation. The South Coast Literary Series presents the event.
