“Sailing Towards My Father,” One Man Play About Moby-Dick

“Sailing Towards My Father” is a one-person play about Herman Melville, written and directed by Carl A. Rossi. It follows Melville from youth to later life and focuses on his development as a writer and his relationships with family, faith, and colleagues, including Nathaniel Hawthorne.

Stephen Collins performs the role. A recent review described his work as funny, poignant, and riveting.

The program will be in the Cook Memorial Theater at the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Tickets are $10 for members and $20 for nonmembers.
