Sagres Tallship: Celebrating an Icon lecture

New Bedford Whaling Museum’s Portuguese and Lusophone World Lecture Series will feature “Sagres Tallship: Celebrating an Icon” on Tuesday, July 21. Doors open at 3:30 p.m. and the program begins at 4 p.m. Member tickets are $12.50. General admission is $25.
The Portuguese Navy training ship NRP Sagres will be highlighted during its visit to New Bedford Harbor. Commander José Eduardo de Sousa Luís will discuss the vessel’s history, training mission and enduring global significance.
Portugal’s ambassador to the United States, Francisco António Duarte Lopes, will also speak.
A question-and-answer session and reception with light refreshments and a cash bar will follow.
