New Bedford Yard Waste collection schedule
September 1 - December 7
New Bedford has a new yard waste collection schedule in effect from September through December 2026.
Yard waste will be collected the day after each household’s regular trash day. Friday routes will have yard waste picked up the following Monday. Residents should place materials at the curb by 7 a.m. using paper yard waste bags or yard waste barrels. Plastic bags are not permitted.
The final collection week begins Monday, Dec. 7. That date will also be the final yard waste collection day for residents on the Friday trash route.
Yard waste and brush can also be dropped off at the Recycling Center, 1103 Shawmut Ave. Hours are noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
