New Bedford City Council meeting

The New Bedford City Council will meet on May 12 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall.
Agenda items include Eversource utility hearings, proposed wastewater rate changes, updates on the retiree pension veto, and funding requests tied to capital projects and snow removal. Council members will also review redevelopment proposals for former city properties, including the New Bedford Armory and several former schools.
Other topics include zoning changes, South End environmental concerns, airport-related trucking activity, and appointments to the Election Commission and Human Rights Commission. Street closures connected to the Day of Portugal, Pride events, fireworks, concerts, and religious processions are also scheduled for approval.
