NBSO: The Human Element
NBSO will perform “The Human Element” on Saturday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. at the Zeiterion. Tickets range from $30 to $80, plus fees.
Music Director Yaniv Dinur leads the program, featuring pianist Michel Camilo. The concert explores concepts of transformation through sound and culture.
The program opens with Missy Mazzoli’s River Rouge Transfiguration, inspired by Detroit’s industrial landscape. Johannes Brahms’ Symphony No. 3 follows, featuring a mix of intensity and lyricism.
Camilo closes the show with his Piano Concerto No. 1, performing his own work. The piece blends classical form with jazz and Afro-Caribbean influences.
