NB Roots & Branches Festival

NB Roots & Branches returns to downtown New Bedford on Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, with free live music, dance, art, and community events.
Festival highlights include 12 performance areas, a sidewalk sale, street performers, participatory art spaces, and a multimedia finale at The Vault. A kickoff contradance and collaboration with AHA!’s Summer Sound series opens the weekend on July 17.
Purchase Street between Union and William streets will close for the festival. Indoor stages will be hosted at Cafe Arpeggio, The Pour Farm Tavern, and Destination Soups. Featured performers include Candida Rose, The Jethros, and Molly O’Leary.
Programming celebrates the region’s diverse cultural traditions, including Portuguese, Cape Verdean, Wampanoag, Irish, Québécois, African American, and Cajun influences.
