Music at the Museum: Serenades & Suites

Serenades & Suites is a free chamber concert on Friday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the New Bedford Art Museum.
The event features Beethoven’s lively six-movement “Serenade, Op. 25,” written for flute, violin and viola. Also included is Quincy Porter’s “Suite in E,” a four-movement work that blends reflective passages with light American dances.
Max Reger’s “Serenade, Op. 141a” completes the program. The three-movement piece combines rich color and serious North German style with moments of delicacy and energy.
