Mail-In, Absentee Ballots Now Available for State Primary

Mail-in and absentee ballots are now available for New Bedford’s state primary election. Any registered voter can request a ballot online, by mail, in person at City Hall, or by calling the Elections Office at 508-979-1420.
The deadline to request a mail-in ballot for the state primary is Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 5 p.m. . Early voting runs Saturday, Aug. 22, through Friday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the third floor of the Main Public Library, 613 Pleasant St.
Aug. 22 is also the deadline to register to vote or change party affiliation for the state primary. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 1 for the primary and Nov. 3 for the general election.
Notary and passport services at the Elections Office are suspended through Nov. 13. Residents with questions about voter registration, polling locations or mail-in ballots can contact the Elections Office at 508 979 1420.
