The award-winning documentary Love Letters for New Bedford will be shown daily at 3:30 p.m. from Wednesday to Sunday in the park visitor center theater. Filmmaker Ethan de Aguiar, a New Bedford native, created the documentary to honor the city’s artists and promote its growing creative economy. The 18-minute film features interviews with 18 local artists, educators, poets, journalists, authors, and vocalists who express their love for New Bedford and its people.
After completion, the film was submitted to 33 film festivals and received 15 Official Selections and 4 Awards. It won the Best Documentary award at the Portugal International Film Festival, the 2023 Texas Arthouse Festival, the Block Island Film Festival, and the Screaming Ostrich International Film Festival.
