LOCAL HISTORY GUILD — Revolution in Old Dartmouth

Local historians are taking a fresh look at Revolutionary War history in Old Dartmouth as the nation marks the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. New research highlights stories from the 1770s and 1780s in present-day Westport, Dartmouth, New Bedford, Fairhaven, and Acushnet.Local History Guild is a quarterly Zoom conversation presented by the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Participants look at art, history, science, and culture connected to the South Coast.
This session brings together Jenny O’Neill of the Westport Historical Society, Diane Gilbert of the Dartmouth Heritage Preservation Trust, Jonathan Lane of Revolution 250, and Judith Lund, curator emerita at the museum, for a conversation about their latest research and discoveries.
