Life-sized scarecrow workshop
October 10 @ 10:00 am - 12:30 pm

Participants can build a full-size scarecrow during a hands-on fall workshop at the New Bedford Arts & Cultural Emporium on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class fee $45.
Straw, clothing, and accessories will be provided, but participants are also welcome to bring their own items to give their scarecrow a more personal look. The finished pieces can be traditional, spooky, funny, or somewhere in between.
Scarecrows can sit on a porch, stand in a yard, or add old-fashioned autumn character to a garden or field.
The workshop draws on the longtime fall tradition of making scarecrows by hand, when they were used to help protect crops from birds and other animals.
