Learn to Sew Beach Bags

A beginner sewing workshop with master tailor Barbara Cory of Nordstrom is scheduled for May 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. The class fee is $55.
Students will make a beach bag while learning sewing basics, including pattern layout, cutting fabric, threading and maintaining a machine, stitching straight lines, turning corners, reverse stitching, attaching handles, and sewing hems.
Safety tips and beginner techniques are also part of the class.
Participants may bring a portable sewing machine or use one provided.
