Introduction to Playback Theatre: A form of storytelling and Improv

March 4 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Introduction to Playback Theatre covers storytelling through improvisation. Sessions cost $15 to $30 with a sliding fee.

This four-week workshop introduces Playback Theatre as a way to spark creativity and build community. Participants learn how to transform personal stories into spontaneous scenes using movement, music, ritual, and spoken improvisation. The process is based on listening, sharing, and bringing lived experiences to life.

Stories shape how people understand the world and one another. Recent years have challenged many communities. This workshop provides a place to play, connect, and reflect through shared storytelling.

Playback Theatre helps develop empathy, intuition, creativity, and communication skills. It is used in a wide range of settings. The workshop is open to ages 16 and older. No theatre experience is required. Participants should wear loose clothing.

The group meets on Wednesdays in March on March 4, 11, 18, and 25 in the Douglas Room at Gallery X.
