The Zeiterion presents “In the Whale: The Greatest Fish Story Ever Told” at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8. Tickets are $15 plus fees. Screening includes a post-show Q&A with director David Abel.
Documentary tells the story of lobster diver Michael Packard, who in 2021 was briefly trapped in a whale’s mouth off Provincetown. The film follows what led up to the moment and what came after.
Abel is a Pulitzer Prize-winning former reporter at The Boston Globe. He wrote, directed, and produced the film. He now teaches journalism at Boston University.
The film won the Audience Choice Award at the 2023 New Hampshire Film Festival and the Best Feature Film Award at the Green Film Festival in San Francisco, among other honors.
