I Return With a Feeling of Us: Opening Reception

The New Bedford Art Museum will open I Return With a Feeling of Us: The Photography of Anthony Barboza on AHA! Night.

This is the first retrospective of Barboza’s work. He was born in 1944 and grew up in New Bedford. He is of Cape Verdean descent.

Barboza is known for documenting Black American life and communities of color around the world. His work shows deep empathy and strong storytelling.

The exhibition includes both personal and commercial photography. It features images of racial injustice, economic inequality, fashion, and celebrity portraits.
