Committee on Economic Development meeting

New Bedford’s Committee on Economic Development will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 20, in City Council Chambers at City Hall. The meeting will be livestreamed and recorded.
Agenda items include a proposal asking Dairy Queen to consider opening a location in New Bedford as part of its Massachusetts expansion plans. Council members are also expected to discuss redevelopment opportunities for vacant mills and churches with Urban Smart Growth, a California-based real estate development company.
Members will also revisit plans for the former Building #19 property on Hathaway Road, the closure of Blue Harvest Fisheries’ food processing operations on Herman Melville Boulevard, and development discussions regarding the New Bedford State Pier.
