Classical Strings and Traditional Fados concert

New Bedford Symphony Orchestra and the Museum of Madeiran Heritage will present “Classical Strings and Traditional Fados” on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Museum of Madeiran Heritage, 27 Hope St., New Bedford. The museum garden opens at 7 p.m., and the concert begins at 8 p.m.
The program pairs Portuguese fado with a New Bedford Symphony string quartet. Fadista Sonia Bettencourt will perform with Loic Cordeone, Viriato Ferreira and Cris Castelo. NBSO musicians Emma Powell, EmmaLee Holmes-Hicks, Anna Griffis and Leo Eguchi will also perform.
Tickets are $40 for general admission and $100 for reserved seating. A $500 sponsorship includes two premium seats, a commemorative bottle of Madeira wine, a private museum tour, and program recognition. Proceeds support the Museum of Madeiran Heritage.
