Cinema 169: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Gallery X will screen Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind on Friday, November 7, as part of Cinema 169. The 1984 animated fantasy by Hayao Miyazaki begins at 7 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30. Refreshments will be available for purchase. Reservations are recommended but not required.

Set a thousand years after the Seven Days of Fire, the film follows Princess Nausicaä as she seeks to restore balance between humans and nature in a world threatened by poisoned air and giant insects.

Cinema 169 is supported in part by a grant from the New Bedford Cultural Council, a local agency funded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
