Choral Concert to Launch Christmas Season

Sine Nomine will present “All Is Calm, All Is Bright: Songs of Christmas” on Thanksgiving weekend. Performances are Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Bristol, R.I., and Sunday, Nov. 30, at Grace Episcopal Church in New Bedford. Both begin at 3 p.m.
Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Students and children attend free. Advance sales open Nov. 1 at sinenominechoir.org or from choir members. Online ticketing is also available through Brown Paper Tickets for each venue.
The program revisits last year’s sold-out Christmas concert. Newly appointed Music Director Daniel Reid leads a tour of European choral works. The journey starts in Louis XIV’s Paris and continues through Spain, Austria, Ukraine, Norway, Ireland, and England. Listeners can expect a mix of discoveries and familiar carols.
Sine Nomine is an auditioned chamber choir-based on the South Coast. The ensemble performs a cappella music from the Middle Ages to today. The group was founded in 1993 by Glenn Giuttari and maintains collaborations with regional artists and institutions.
