CETACEAN (The Whale) at the Whaling Museum

The New Bedford Whaling Museum presents “CETACEAN (The Whale)” on Wednesday, Sept. 24. The audiovisual performance is created by artist and storyteller Deke Weaver. It blends video, sound, movement, and storytelling to reflect on whales, oceans, and the human condition.
The piece is part of Weaver’s ongoing project The Unreliable Bestiary. It is directed by Jennifer Allen and performed by Weaver, Allen, and Latrelle Bright. Longtime collaborators also contributed to costume, video, sound, and dramaturgy.
The performance will be held in the Harbor View Gallery. Doors open at 6 p.m. The show begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 general admission and $10 for members, available on the museum’s website.
