The New Bedford Fishing Heritage Center opens a new exhibit “Ceremonies & Celebrations,” on Thursday, July 3. On view through 2025, the exhibit highlights events that have shaped the city’s fishing community, including the Scallop Festival, Working Waterfront Festival, Blessing of the Fleet, and Fishermen’s Memorial Service.
Visitors can explore photos, videos, and artifacts from the Center’s collection and community partners. Summer and fall programs include a scallop shucking contest on August 14, a panel in September, and a film screening in October.
