Ceremonies, Celebrations, & Community at FHC

The upcoming AHA! Night programs at FHC are on Thursday, March 12. Learn about the history of waterfront ceremonies and celebrations past and present. Admission to the Center is free for AHA! Night.
4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Family-friendly activity: Decorate your own Scallop Festival Sash
- Stop by FHC to meet former New Bedford Scallop Festival Queen Elizabeth Belanger, and decorate your own Scallop Festival sash and tiara!
6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – Panel discussion: Ceremonies, Celebrations, & Community
- Participants in the center’s Herstory Oral History Project will share stories from the New Bedford Scallop Festival, Blessing of the Fleet, Fishermen’s Memorial Service, and Working Waterfront Festival. Visitors are invited to share their own experiences.
